NACES 2010: Evidence to Success

Early December, I went for NACES 2010 and I managed to win some prizes. I won first place for Technical Essay Writing Competition and third place for Technical PowerPoint Presentation with fellow team mates (Daniel, Weewee and Szeleng). More happy news is UPM was announced as the best univesity in NACES 2010 because we managed to grab top three prizes. Here are the some reports on NACES 2010 made by UPM internal affairs:

Back to November

Finally the gruesome exams were over and I was planning to take some time to relax myself at home before going back to uni on 1st of December to attend Naces 2010. Naces 2010 can be considered as an annual grand event for all chemical engineering students in public and private unis. This time, I was given the opportunity to participate in essay writing competition and technical power point presentation. I was greedy enough to accept the offers and I must admit that I was struggling to divide my time and focus on both competitions. I am hoping that there will be good outing for us in this Naces.

Glad to be able to watch Asian Games report daily on tv but I'm really disappointed at badminton players the most. They can make us proud by grabbing the gold medals for individual event and I will put the blame on BAM for the team competition failure. The back-up players of our country always fail to give good performance in crucial stage and this indicate that our country will not have good players for the coming decade. Personally, I don't know why our players like Koo/Tan and Lee can't handle the pressure of playing in the rubber game. They are easily making the silly mistakes and didn't give a good fight to their oppenents. Their coach always make excuse for their under-performed and they never brave enough to admit that our players are still not good enough. Very disappointing and I wish our badminton players can emulate Nicol DAvid success and she did lose in several matches but she always make quick recovery by winning the next tournament. I'm not saying that our players must win all the tournaments they participate in but at least they will try not to lose to the same opponents easily.

Coming up next....report on course trip and tv shows.........

Mucha suerte

Tengo el examen viene esta semana. Deseo a responder a la pregunta asi. Deseo que el examen no es muy dicifil. Coming home last week to do revisions and there is no way you can fully concentrate on your studies. There is no way you can fully focus on studies as you did for SPM and STPM examinations. I totally agree with this statement. Hopefully the cming final examination would not be difficult to answer. Good luck.

Keep On!

Back from sem break, I started to do some revision for upcoming tests but it was kinda failure because I wasn't fully focused on it. The lectures in class still remain the same...Bored......During raya break, I got the opportunity to meet Chee Kwang ( former Science 5 classmate) and he told me that studying pharmacy wasn't easy as I thought. They still carried out killing experiments on innocent white rats and frogs and I found it very disgusting. I hate dissection. After hearing more stories from Chee Kwang, I found out that I was lucky enough to pick up chemical engineering. Today, it was a great day because I wake up early to attend charity run. Almost a month I didnt do exercise and feeling great to see my sweat dripping from my body again. After having my dinner, I went to watch Donnie Yen's new movie in the Mines and I liked this action packed movie very much. Able to see real action and plus having Su Qi on the big screen again. Finished reporting. Hoping I'm able to find new direction in my studies and catch up Glee season 2 and ANTM cycle 15.

MEMO FOR 1ST WEEK HOLIDAYS

After struggling in uni life for 8 weeks, the time had come for me to take a break ( I mean raya break). In university, most of us always were burdened with assignments, homeworks and not to forget lab reports. I always asked when this kind of works gonna to stop!!....I guess I need to wait for graduation ( still have one and half year to go)........
Normally this is the list which people like us always do during sem break:
(1) YUM CHA..is a must so that we can share our stories with former classmate and gossiping at the same time.
(2) Watching movies with buddies and we don't care what movies we are watching as long as we are watching it with buddies.
(3) Singing session...we cant escape during sem break and rap along also.
(4) Short trip...not a wise choice because it always meet with peak season.....

Still left one week break and I'm trying not to waste it. There is a long list of things I want to do before heading back to uni for second half sem. Finally I managed to finish watching Glee and now switched to TVB dramas. Tomorrow I'm going to Nava birthday celebration dinner and I wish him all the best in his studies.

Random Memo

My test one ended last two weeks ago and last week I went to Mid-Valley with friends. Dropped by Kim Gary shop, I ate cheese baked rice and  yin yong for my dinner. Luckily, it wasn't packed with customers that day and headed to cinema for 'The Expendables'. The movie can be considered good to watch for overall. But I prefer Inception than The Expendables because of its intriguing story. Just now, I did some editing to Kelly Clarkson wikipedia regarding the sales and certifications. Haha.....

July....

Before July ends, I should write something in my blog.

1st, 2nd and 3rd week of sem 5,

- Busy in preparing for the Chem-E-Car competition but didnt win anything..sorry UPM
- during this period, I didnt have my proper meals and spend most of my time in material lab AND skipping
   the classes as well.
- managed to escape from experimental failure by going to Green Box with kakis. Really enjoy by singing
'Baby- Justin Bieber' twice and Adam Lambert hits 'Whataya Want from me'
- Not to forget, I was trying to finish watching the TVB drama 'Mysterious of Love' and Raymond Lam really
   blew me off.

This week

- I received the money from JPA and no worries over financial problem
- watched 'Inception' on Wednesday and this movie was awesome.....I wished I was one of the casts.
- announcement test 1 by lecturer = no holiday for this weekend
- And today I received one good news...I won consolation prize for essay writing competition...(extra
RM100 in my pocket and a cert for my collection)...wish to hit the jackpot (RM2,500)
- Dressing casual for the coursenite..just few hours away from now...

That's how I spent my weeks in UPM so far.........................

Justin Bieber

I never knew this guy till I saw this cover and I wonder why this singer looked so young. According to Billboard, this young man already got the platinum status through his first album My World and I went to Youtube to search for his songs. My first impression was wow because I never knew that his song 'One Time' had been viewed over 110 millions times. This song was great to listen to and I planned to sing it in k-box one day. Then I went on searching for his song in second album My World 2.0 and his international hit Baby already hit 190 millions views. Guess what I like this song very much and his dance part in the David Letterman show. Baby was the third most view videos in the youtube history and less than 12 hours each day, this views always hit 1.0 million views. No wonder why he can catch up with the Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. I think it will be a bright future for this young boy in singing career.

Gentrip Trip 2010

Feel lazy to update my blog lately. But I want to share my marvelous experience in Genting Highlands with my readers. I went to Genting with course mates last week after I finished my last paper for this sem. It was my first time to step on Genting's land and really fell in love with the weather here (windy always). After checking in, we straight away went to theme park and had fun.

here is the theme park entrance
At night, I spent some time to visit casino with other male course mates. The casino really crowded with people and the air was filled with cigarette's smoke as well (really cant breathe). At first, I wanted to gamble with my RM50 note but seeing the other males didn't want to gamble so I just kept that note.At the end, we bought poker cards from 7 Eleven shop and played in the room till 2 something.
Although it was 2 days and one night trip, I felt happy to spend some time in Genting because this was my first visit to Genting. Hopefully, more opportunity will come after this.

2 MORE PAPERS TO GO.....

My last paper for this week is Pengucapan Awam on Friday night and next week, I'm going to sit for Unit Operation 1 before heading to Genting with fellow coursemates. Hopefully, my first time visit to Genting would be memorable and fruitful one. Really can't wait to visit casino and theme park. Last week, I went back to Ipoh and I felt that the climate in Ipoh had changed tremendously because I was sweating all day long. With Andrew Garcia's exit, I think I will not going to watch the American Idol season 9 because the rest of the contestants are really lacking of star power and charisma. This sem break would be the short one to me because I have to go back to UPM earlier to invent my Chem E Car. My group was selected with other 4 groups to represent UPM in this Chem E Car competition this July. All the best..

Adam Lambert: For Your Entertainment

Everyone knows him (Adam Lambert) through the reality singing competition (American Idol season 8) and personally I like this season very much til I will play the random episodes whenever I got the free time. Haha.. Today I would like to write some reviews for his songs in For Your Entertainment album and here are the track listing:
1) Music Again
2) For Your Entertainment
3) Whataya Want from Me
4) Strut
5) Soaked
6) Sure Fire Winners
7) A Loaded Smile
8) If I Had You
9) Pick U Up
10) Fever
11) Sleepwalker
12) Aftermath
13) Broken Open
14) Time For Miracles

For Your Entertainment (dance pop) was his official first single and it quickly climbed the charts in various countries. It is still charting according to Billboard charts.com. Whataya Want from Me (rock pop) was his second official single and it sold approximately 756,000 legal digital downloads (Wikipedia). If I Had You was his third single and would be available for legal downloading in few weeks times.
My personal picks are For Your Entertainment, Whataya Want From Me,
If I Had You and Aftermath.

Best-Paying Degrees in 2010

Not much personal stuff to be shared for this week . Today I found one interesting article entitled 'Best-Paying Degrees in 2010' in Yahoo website and I thought it was good to share this article with others. It said that engineering still dominated the top 10 highest - earning and the most demand degree. However this survey was conducted in US and UK only, therefore the scenario might not be same in Malaysia. The lowest earning degree reported was sociology, hence all of us should not worry too much. Here is the top-paid Bachelor's degree:

Spoilt

Today I should have my last paper for test 2 and I'm looking forward to relax myself in the coming weekend. But the lecturer spoilt the day by postponing the test to Monday. Most of my course mates were stunned by the lecturer's decision because majority of them including myself already gave up for this course. The lecturer claimed that the paper she set was too tough for us and she had made a decision to change the questions. Not sure whether she was telling the truth or not, we had to accept this bad new in this morning. Initially, I and several friends planned to go to Genting this weekend but everything has to be postponed. Perhaps God give me another chance to revise this subject properly since I got 7.33/20 for my test 1 and I can fail in this subject if I cannot get high mark in this test 2. Bored........

Importance of me.....

I won't receive many messages in normal days but I will receive abundance of messages during certain period (exam week)......I start to wonder my importance to course mates...Am I only can be associated with studies only or something else....Should I proud of it or mad of it?

Mixed Feeling

Last week I spent my holidays in hometown and went out with friends for two days. The highlight of the week was eating dim sum in Foh San restaurant with friends. Wake up at 5.30am in the morning, I got myself prepared and waited for Sengaik to fetch me at 6am. Arrived at restaurant around 6.40am and this restaurant was packed with people already. It was my first time eating dim sum there and all I could said about the dim sum was delicious. I really enjoyed every moment at Foh San restaurant and I hope that I would drop by this place again.
Recently, I got to find out that my Thermodynamics 2 test 1 mark was horrible because I managed to score 7.33/20 only and I was expected I'm going to fail in my test 1 as I didn't use the formulas provided by killer lecturer. I learned my lesson already and I should open my eye widely when answering exam questions. I hope that I can catch up in my test 2. God bless me...
Lately, I'm busy watching American Idol season 9 online (thanks to Eric for providing the link to me) and my early favourite is Andrew Garcia and I'm really addicted to his Hollywood week song 'Straight Up'. I guess I'm not the only one who loves his song because his video in You tube has been watched over 1 million times for a short period of time.

Reunion Dinner 2010

Few more days, we will be celebrating our Chinese New Year and recently I had my reunion dinner with course mates at Yuen's Steamboat shop (somewhere near the Sunway). The theme of the day is everyone is red. We reached there around 7.30pm and the shop was crowded with people already.
Here are the food taken by 'fungry'( Ah Kwan & Kenny suggested) course mates
Guess what is meant by 'fungry'? Stay tune.....

the group photo in the shop - ultimate red!!

something you should take note of this picture-bummy tummy
please forgive me hj because everyone has the right to know it..

More photos will be uploaded and more stories after this.....Happy Chinese New Year to everyone

雙冠軍

I want it more....it feels great to watch badminton matches because you can see how the top players retrieve or smash the shuttlecock. I'm an avid fan of badminton star for long time because personally I'm only interested in badminton in comparison with other sports. Malaysian Open 2010 just ended yesterday where Malaysia managed to won two matches (men single and double) in Bukit Jalil Stadium. In principle of economy, the rule 1 is people will face trade-off in their lives. I'm sacrificing my studies time to watch badminton matches and this means that I will have lesser time in preparing for my test but I'm spending my time to watch something I like the most (haha I'm still the big winner here). My advice is we should not feel guilty for sacrificing your study time as long as you enjoy the thing that you do. Congrats to Datuk Lee Chong Wei and KKK&TBH...

One Year Old

I shall take some time to manage my blog as it is left unattended most of the time. I can't post pictures in my blog as my notebook is still recuperating and it takes time to get well soon. Last December, I was glad to meet my best friend, Zarul who came back to Malaysia for summer holidays and he bought some souvenirs to me. I will upload the photos of souvenirs later. Time flies very fast as my phone is one-year old already and recently I got my cheque from Nuffnang...haha

Lappy Caught Flu

This is my first post in 2010 year and I felt sad because my lappy caught flu last Thursday (New Year Eve). Now, I started to appreciate my lappy because it brought many thrills and entertainment to me. I can't finish watching desparate housewives season 6 and many more tv series. I just need to blame the Dell notebooks for causing much problems to the users like me. Ahrrrr......
