Random Thought

It has been months since I updated my blog. Yeah....finally I finish my studies at UPM and currently I am looking for a good job. I attended some interviews for the past few months and some offered me the jobs and some didn't work out. I attended P's interview last month and after two weeks, I didn't receive any response from HR. I decided to call him and luckily he picked up my phone. I asked him whether I passed the interview or not and he said I passed the interview and I need to send him the final transcript and letter from university before he can issue me the offer letter. Everything was done orally and I don't feel secure because normally I will do things in black and white so that we can keep track on it, in case anything goes wrong.

If everything goes well, I shall start working in September and I will be based in Kuantan, Pahang. Hopefully the HR guy didn't break his promise and he will issue me the offer letter as soon as possible. Actually, I am hesitate to travel far to Kuantan to start my work because I always wish that my workplace will be somewhere near KL so that I can go back hometown easily during the weekends.

I was happy to receive a call from EM last month and I knew that the phone conversation lasted very short only, probably about 5 minutes. Since then, I'm keep waiting for their call and email everyday because I hope that I will be invited for the face-to-face interview with EM. If I manage to secure it, I will be based in KL and I like it. It has been weeks and they still have not call me for another interview. I felt demotivated and hopefully, they are still screening the potential candidates for an interview, instead of dumping me without any notice because I still have a faith that they will call me one day for an interview. In the earlier phone conversation, I don't feel like they are going to reject my application because they ended the conversation by checking on whether my emailing address was correct or not. This hint is quite obvious to me that they want to contact me again or probably they will not call me again because I think too much.

Anyway, I really hope that I am able to secure a job upon graduation. Seeing other course mates starting their career lives could add more pressure on myself but I still believe that finding a right job is always important so that your career goals can be achieved in the near future. Right now, I still writing a journal for my final year project and I feel lazy to do it. Hopefully more good news will come after this.

  1. Take your time and find a job that you'll enjoy doing...there is not rush in finding a job...go enjoy yourself for a month or two before working...

  4. All the best in getting a job at EM. It's good training ground if you are a self starter, but not too brilliant if you hope others will lead you by the nose to the fount of knowledge, and purchasing an Audi next year. Don't think of it as an engineering company, but as a business entity that will use its resources to their best interests. I do hope you register with the BEM, and get a carrier path that will fit into the requirements of becoming a Professional Engineer.
BTW, you do know you wrote 'ExxonMobil' as a tag, right :)?
